I thought it might be useful to write a short piece about my process when it comes to producing my limited edition prints.
In my studio I have a suite of two Apple Studio machines paired with Apple displays that are calibrated to make sure that my prints are perfectly colour matched. I often spend days working on any one particular image so that the colours and the tones are exactly how I would like them to be. Once I am happy with an image, I will then start the test print process which starts with producing small scale prints and can require dozens of trials before I am happy to launch a print and make it available to purchase. The paper that I print on is made by Hahnemuhle – one of the the most regarded paper producers in the world. My favourite paper is the PhotoRag in 308gsm weight.
Making multiple test prints
Each print in an edition is signed and numbered before being either framed for exhibition or shipped unframed to locations anywhere around the world. When shipping unframed prints, I carefully wrap each print around a tube, then wrap in recycled protective material bore being placed into a larger sturdy tube for transportation. Each print also comes with a signed and numbered certificate to guarantee authenticity.
Each one of my limited edition prints are carefully produced using the highest quality archival inks, and printed using the latest in wide format printing technology from Epson.
